OUR PHILOSOPHY

Children need to feel confident if they are to learn effectively. By understanding what a child needs in order to feel happy and comfortable in our care, we are able to produce the optimum environment for learning – a place where children can engage with their environment, learn and have fun. Our comprehensive learning program integrates all aspects of a child’s healthy development from correct nutrition to a comprehensive education.

We provide fun opportunities for a child to be with other children of their age group in a setting which meets both the developmental needs of the child and the concerns of parents. A place where the child can engage in activities that are both fun and that serve a meaningful purpose.

OUR BACKGROUND

The founder, Jeanie Smith, currently has over 45 years of experience in education. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Arizona State University. In 1972 she began her career as a classroom teacher for Mesa Public Schools. As head teacher, she was involved in the planning and opening of elementary schools in the Mesa District. She then went on to become a curriculum basic-skills specialist and coordinated summer school programs in the Tempe School District.

After having 4 children of her own, she decided to open a child care center with curriculum-based learning programs. She applied her background in education and knowledge in child development to create an exciting program for children to learn and play while preparing them for elementary school. The first Kids Incorporated Learning Center opened in 1988 as an on-site childcare center for the employees of Mesa Lutheran Hospital.

Kids Incorporated is dedicated and committed to providing the finest quality childcare. Our program integrates all aspects of a child’s development. Our activities and experiences positively contribute to the developmental needs of a child. Our curriculum shall include reading readiness, math, language development, science, creative expression, music, arts & crafts, special projects and much more.

OUR STAFF

At Kids Incorporated a fully qualified teacher is always on hand to watch over, care for and encourage your child. Each staff member’s education and experience meet or exceed the state standards. We provide a training program for our staff that was designed to cover all aspects of caring for and educating children. Bus drivers are also prescreened, First Aid & CPR certified and carefully trained. All of our staff members are required to have a valid fingerprint card and background checks. In addition, all staff are also required to complete ongoing training hours in various topics regarding the care, education, development, and safety of children.

OUR ENVIRONMENT

A team of professionals carefully designed our nature-inspired environment. Our schools were created and built to produce an inviting atmosphere for children of all ages to safely learn and grow. Each unique classroom is skillfully tailored to meet the age-appropriate needs of each individual child. Our classrooms provide the structure of various learning centers including a library, block area, discovery, dramatic play, art, and manipulatives. Each center is filled with educational materials which support many opportunities for children to learn efficiently.

Our outdoor learning environments feature various unique play structures specifically designed for toddler, preschool and school-age child age groups. The spaces were created not only to provide an opportunity for children to develop gross motor skills but also to implement an outdoor classroom environment featuring opportunities for art, music, dramatic play, circle time and learning activities. Our signature splash pad provides a safe play area for water days in the summertime.
